The Institution always aspires to organize activities that are geared towards achieving sustainable professional development. For this reason, the Institution organized the 8th ISK Conference on 16th and 17th November, 2023 at Boma Inn Hotel, Eldoret from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm on both days. The theme of the 8th ISK Africa Regional Conference “Climate Resilient Surveying for Sustainable Land and Built Environment” was particularly important due to the pressing challenges that climate change poses to the land and built environment.
Surveying professionals provide the foundation on which environmental scientists and built environment investors rely on to make informed decisions about land resource management. This symbiotic relationship is vital for safeguarding the environment and creating a sustainable future.
The Chief Guest of the ARC Conference, Hon. Alice Wahome, Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development was represented by Weldon Maritim, Director of Survey. Special Guests at the ARC were Surv. Kwame Tenadu, snr. Vice President, International Federation of Surveyors and Solomon Kihiu, Director of NEMA, Eldoret. They Key Note Address was given by H.E Hon. Jonathan Bii, Governor, County Government of Uasin Gishu. The Institution achieved regional representation among the invited 24 Guest Speakers.
