2028 will be a special year for FIG as it will include a celebration of the 150th anniversary of FIG. Since FIG was founded in Paris, France in 1878, the Working Week 2028 will take place in the same city. One difference to other Working Weeks will be that there will be one special celebration day.
FIG President Diane Dumashie visited Paris and the local organisers togethher with FIG Director Louise Friis-Hansen. Already now the local organisers are far in their planning of this event. The celebration day will take place in the Philharmonie with a mixture of plenary/key note speakers and celebration. The other two days will take place at the nearby Cité des Sciences with technical sessions.
The two French Associations, Ordre des Géomètres-Experts (OGE) and the French Association of Topography (AFT) are local hosts of this special event. FIG had meetings with representatives from both associations including President of OGE Séverine Vernet.
The meetings were a mixture of preparatory meeting of the Working Week and a site visit to the two venues that will be used for the Working Week.
FIG President Diane Dumashie and Director Louise Friis-Hansen met with President of OGE, Séverine Vernet, Luc Lanoy, Bertrand Mercier and Florian Lebourdais for a pre-meeting. Other attendees from OGE were Hervé Grelard, Nicolas SMITH (NS) and Jean-François DALBIN. Bernard Flaceliere attended on behalf of AFT.
