In pursue of a sustainable development, it is key to balance the various, sometimes conflicting, interests in spatial planning and to acknowledge the voice of all stakeholders. Themes that will be addressed are urban challenges, urban-rural dependencies, and GIS and land policy tools for implementation."

Commission 8 Annual Meeting 2025

Commission 8 at FIG Working Week 2025

The FIG Working Week 2025 was held from 6-10 April in Brisbane, Australia. During the conference, Commission 8 had organised severaly sessions in the tehcnical programme and conducted its annual meeting. Additionally, the progress of all commissions was presented at the General Assembly.

Webinar: Climate-smart land use planning - towards flood and drought resilience

4 April 2024 2 pm CET

During the webinar, the invited experts will share their knowledge of adaptive spatial planning tools that can help face climate change mitigation and adaptation challenges. The webinar provides space for knowledge sharing and discussing our challenges. We will be looking to answer the question: what could the surveyors' role be in these processes?
