FIG Commission 6 - Engineering Surveys

"Engineering surveying is traditionally linked to civil engineering in several domains - structural, hydraulic, geotechnical and transportation, are the most known - and intervenes both in construction and in monitoring.

Due to the high demands on accuracy in engineering geodetic applications, engineering surveyors need to push equipment and techniques to their limits. As a recognition of their broad skills, engineering surveyors are being involved in projects in a variety of areas such as mechanical and industrial engineering, energy, territory and the so demanding environment. "

May 2020

During the conference days a range of articles highlighting the hot-topics, the ground breaking research, and the hidden gems in the proceedings was published.

The diversity and quality of the communications gathered at FIG Working Week 2020 prove, once again, the event’s importance for the community of professionals. The six technical sessions of commission 6, are no exception and showcase the diversity of domains in which the professionals work, domains which generate many varied problems, yet which also present techniques that allow for an advance in quality, efficiency, and productivity.   Read the article
